Privacy policy
The short version
- We only collect what we need to reply to you and do your project.
- We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
Brightfront Studio (ABN 80 241 124 181) designs and looks after websites for small businesses. This policy explains how we handle personal information, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you use our project planner, book a call, request a review, or contact us, we collect the details you give us. This may include:
- your name, business name, email address and phone number
- your current website, and answers about your business and the website you want
- the time you book for a call
- files you choose to upload, such as logos, photos, screenshots or brand guides
We may also hold publicly listed business contact details, such as an email address published on a business website or directory, so we can offer services relevant to that business.
Our website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. Our project planner saves your answers in your own browser while you fill it in, so you don't lose them if you close the page. That copy stays on your device and is removed when you send your answers.
How we use it
- to reply to you, prepare a quote and arrange calls
- to review your current website (which is public) and plan your project
- to design, build, host and support your website
- to send you service messages, such as confirmations and updates about your project
- to keep business records we're required to keep by law
We only send marketing emails where the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) allows it, and every one includes a simple way to opt out. If you opt out, we stop straight away.
AI tools
We use AI tools (Anthropic's Claude) to help review websites, plan projects from your answers and uploads, draft designs and draft emails. A person at Brightfront reviews this work before anything is sent to you or published. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, information we send through their business service isn't used to train their AI models.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your information. We use a small number of service providers who handle it on our behalf:
- Supabase, which stores our enquiries and the files you upload (hosted in Sydney, Australia)
- LeadConnector (GoHighLevel), our customer management system
- Resend, which delivers our emails
- Anthropic, the AI provider described above
- our website and domain hosting providers
Some of these providers are based overseas, mainly in the United States, and may store or process information there. We choose providers with strong security practices and only share what they need to do their job.
If we build a website for you, the photos and logo used on it are stored where the website can display them publicly, like any image on a public website. Your other files stay private.
Enquiry forms on websites we build
Some websites we build for our clients include an enquiry form. When someone sends that form, we pass their message to the business that owns the website and keep a copy so we can support that business. That business is responsible for how it uses the enquiry. If you have a question about an enquiry you sent to one of our clients, contact that business first. We're also happy to help.
Keeping it safe
We store information in secure, access-controlled systems, and only people who need it for their work can see it. We keep enquiries only as long as we need them for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or de-identify them.
Your choices
You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Email hello@brightfrontstudio.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first and we'll try to fix it. If you're still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
